About Dr. Contract
Dr. Contract was born in Baltimore, grew up in Pennsylvania, and has lived in the Washington area for the past 40 years. His predental education was at both Penn State and American University. He graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry with a DDS in 1964. After serving as a Captain in the USAF Dental Corps, he completed a post-graduate training program in Orthodontics and received his Specialty Certificate from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1968. His practice has been limited to orthodontics since then and has included locations in Maryland and Virginia. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the DC Society of Orthodontists, the DC Dental Society and the American Dental Association.
For the past 13 years he has been located in downtown DC. Married with two adult children and one grandchild, he still gets a lot of joy and satisfaction in treating and correcting the orthodontic problems of people of all ages. In his off hours he enjoys long distance running having just completed his 35th marathon, plus the obscure sport of race walking having just represented Maryland in the National Senior Olympics in the 1500 meter and 5000 meter racewalks, and down hill skiing where he does not distinguish himself but loves it anyway.
About Our Office
Office Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Call for your appointment today or e-mail us with questions and/or appointment requests.
On your first visit, Dr. Contract will examine you at no charge to determine whether orthodontic treatment is needed. A free analysis of your dental insurance benefit will be done as well. If you are ready to begin, we will complete the proper x-rays and other treatment planning materials. This is called orthodontic records and a payment will be due on the day when that procedure is done. An appointment will be made for a treatment conference a few weeks later to review the findings and the treatment plan. Shortly afterwards, your treatment would be started. You can expect appointments at three to six week intervals until the completion of treatment. There is usually a period of wearing retainers afterwards as well with the appointments spaced at much longer intervals.
We will try to give you enough information so that you can make an informed decision. We find that the more you know, the more comfortable you will be with your decision to have orthodontic treatment. Please feel free to ask questions at anytime during the process.
